Greetings!
Welcome to The High School for Creative Learning!
We thank you giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and share the exciting vision that we have for your child, our school and you.
To begin with, my name is Karen Broussard Marlow. I am the Founder and Headmistress of the school. I am a native Texan, raised in Houston, Texas. I graduated from Memorial High School. I have a BFA from Sam Houston University and studied at the Tobe Coburn School and The School of Visual Arts in New York City, New York. I have worked as a substitute teacher in Houston and New Jersey.
The High School for Creative Learning is the second school that I have founded. In the year 2000, I founded a school, Manners Do Matter … and so do you!, a school devoted to teaching and training children and adults in the art of etiquette and communication skills. I am pleased to say that my company was recognized to be at the forefront of this new industry by Business Week Magazine in 2003. This company is still operating.
The High School for Creative Learning is a college preparatory school with emphasis on life and communication skills. We offer the advantage of a home school environment coupled with the advantage of a formal private school. The High School for Creative Learning is a Special Project of Texas Tech University’s Division of Outreach and Distance Education and students earn a high school diploma from Texas Tech University Independent School District. Students learn at their own pace under the supervision of certified teachers.
I hope you will invite us to be a significant part of your child’s life and future
Sincerely,
Karen E. Broussard Marlow
Headmistress
