We are proud to offer The Math Star
Program, designed by our Lead Teacher, Nancy McBride, to all students for
the Spring 2008 semester. The Math Star course is a comprehensive review of
the math concepts presented in grades 1-8. It is designed for high school
students in lieu of individual tutoring. Students struggling with algebra or
geometry are often missing one or two key concepts causing stumbling blocks
for higher mathematics. This course is designed to remove these obstacles.
In conjunction with required English classes, we offer
Vocabulary/Spelling enrichment sessions. These lessons concentrate on
building a powerful vocabulary which is the single most important factor in
a student’s performance on SAT and ACT college entrance exams. In addition,
we concentrate on the lost arts of spelling and handwriting.
The High School for Creative Learning sponsors a
Saturday curriculum entitled “The Art and Joy of Creative Living” consisting
of 3 Saturday classes per month. We offer various topics of practical
and artistic application. Classes include:
Fine arts
(drawing/watercolor/pastels/oil painting/ sculpture/printmaking)
